Minna at New Co-op in Philadelphia

Minna is joining forces with a new Co-op in Philadelphia.  The co-op started as Fishtown Airways in September 2009, and now is shifting to a new name.  For November 6, First Friday we should be in full force, set to have a successful Christmas season.  Please join us November 6, at 200 East Girard Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125,  reception will be from 6pm to 10pm.  We will have food and drink, as well as live entertainment.

Fishtown Shad Fest

The First Annual Fishtown Shad Fest was a great success! Along with wonderful weather, the variety of vendors were able to satisfy many different interests, including crafts, history, environmental education, kayaking, shad \sandwiches, and many different musical bands.

About the event: InLiquid is partnering with Greensgrow Farms for A Very Kensington Christmas.

This holiday market of arts, crafts, natural goods, Christmas trees and more will be taking place on December 14, from 1pm to 6pm.

Please note that yes this is being held in a heated greenhouse.

A Weekend of Bookbinding and Paste paper making -January 10-11, 2009

Only $180 for a weekend or $85 for a day (Option to choose just one day).  Supply fee $10 

On Saturday learn how to paint your own colorful papers using an Old World technique of paste paper painting.  This is a fun, relaxing and “addictive” creative endeavor.  On Sunday, use the papers you made on Saturday to make your own books.  Learn the basics of bookbinding and the tools involved.  Make your own accordion book and japanese binding.

Decorative Papers – January 18, 2009

 $85 for the day and a $10 supply fee

Learn about the vast world of papers and stamps, decorative methods and embossing techniques.  At day’s end you will have a plethora of stampings to make unique cards, tags, or wrapping paper with.

PMC Weekend- February 7-8, 2009

Only $180 for the weekend, materials fee $40 ( a packet of PMC is costly)

Learn about the wonderful world of Precious Metal Clay (PMC), and it’s unique characteristics.  You will be able to knead and shape your own jewelry in the form of clay and then fire it to be 99% silver.  By the end of the weekend you will have made a pendant or two, and a pair of earrings.

POST- Open Studios

Minna participated in the annual Open Studio tours the weekend of October 11 and 12.  She received many guests who were introduced to her work on one-on-one basis, touring her work stations for bookbinding, collage and jewelry.  They were able to purchase one of a kind works while enojying snacks and wine.

During its ninth annual city-wide event, more than 290 professional visual artists in 16 neighborhoods of Philadelphia opened their studios to the public to show and sell artwork.
